Arab American's Life Worth Less Than Jewish American's Life

What makes one death newsworthy and other ignorable? The victim's religion?
I noticed that when Palestinian militants exploded a bomb in Israel an American and his significant other (I don't know if both were Jewish or just one) died, and the last few days there was extensive media coverage of this tragedy, especially, obviously, in New York.
The next day an Arab-American apparently lost control of his car (the Israeli police pointed to the long skid marks as evidence of this) and hit a bus stop where some armed Israeli Jews just shot him to death.
Whether his car accident was deliberate or by chance, he was shot in cold blood and was also an American but an Arab-American.
At least I did not see any of the same newspapers that ran half page stories on the Jewish American kid(s)' deaths following up on what happened to that Arab-American man, his background, his family, and what happened to them.
If anyone saw any newspaper show the same or even half-way fair coverage to both the Jewish-American and Arab-American victims of similar cold blooded terrorism, please let me know about it.
I wonder how the media decide when to ignore one murder, while eulogizing another, perhaps just because of the religion of the parties involved?

PS In 2004, 8 years after I wrote this, things are worse. Shameless George W. Bush is so beholden to Zionists that he cannot even CRITICIZE israel for murdering Palesintian children in a missile strike. What a shame he does this while he claims to be doing God's and Jesus' work.
