Dear Baig sahib and fellow Pakistanis-(&)-Americans,

As you can see from my work at http://www.imran.TV , as a news analyst and commentator on CNN and Fox News Channel, I always ensure speaking on issues from a neutral stance. I therefore will not be attending this specific party's event.

However, I must commend you, and your friends, whichever political party you affiliate with, for political activism. It is essential for Pakistanis and Muslims to engage in American politics. Organizations and events like yours are a good way to start building the influence we need - something the Hindu-Indian and Jewish-Israeli lobbies are miles ahead of us in.

Even though I am neutral and had previously felt that George W. Bush would be a decent President, this year as a Pakistani, as a Muslim and as an American it is my most fervent wish and prayer to ensure he packs his bags and goes back to his ranch.

But, my main concern at this stage would be to have Pakistanis and Muslims being taken for granted by the Democrats. As you can see from the media every day, both Republicans and Democrats fall over each other trying to suck up to the Zionist lobby in the USA, trying to prove how they would even sell out American interests to get the Jewish vote.

While Pakistanis and Muslims may not be strong enough in the political arena but there are several things you and your invited guests can, and MUST, do - IF they want to ensure survival and success of the Ummah, Pakistan and Muslim interests.

1. ENGAGE politically, build influence but ensure you keep the pressure on whichever party you support to keep them from getting even more pro-Israel, anti-Muslim than they are. Ask them for positions on specific issues.....their saying they are looking at the issue is not an acceptable answer. What we need is for them to be made to take some stands - and then use those to pressure their opposing politicians to commit to the similar positions.

2. WRITE or call the media any time you see a case of media bigotry or Islam- or Pakistan-bashing. I always encourage people to invest in a pack of 10 stamped postcards sitting next to the TV remote control. That way, as soon as you see something that makes you angry or upset or sad or dismayed by media hypocrisy or the media letting known Zionists or Islam-bashers have free rein to attack Muslims, you can immediately write a two line letter and throw it in the mail. Most people tend to postpone taking action for "later" which never happens or feel they will need to spend a lot of time to write a long letter or something like that. Just write a simple - "I am angry that you allowed the bigot Mr. X to say "blah blah"..." - and you have taken action and for only 37 cents or so. If we are not committed enough to spend 37 cents and 2 sentences worth of ink to speak up then we deserve however we are treated here and everywhere else.

3. REACH OUT to your non-Pakistani American friends, and know that you personally can be a better Ambassador of Goodwill for Pakistan and Islam than all the organizations and embassies combined. Please visit http://www.imran.com and view the multimedia and other content there. You can get talking points on making the American people understand that Pakistanis and Muslims are better friends of America than those who put the interests of a foreign countries like Israel ahead of American interests. You will be surprised how many of our fellow decent Americans have not even been given that perspective by the often bigoted or biased media and TV personalities.

Quite frankly, if we are too lazy to take these three simple steps - even God will not feel any interest in helping us. Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Imran Anwar
