ANOTHER FREE IMRAN SERVICE FOR PAKISTANIS

INSTRUCTIONS

These instructions WILL change when I set up a secure means for you to enter data in the database. For now, please follow these instructions. ALL pending listings (almost 520) have been added to the database.

To be listed, send me an email at imran@imran.com. The message subject should be PPP and the message text MUST be IN ONE LINE like this:

Name, City (optional), State (optional), Email (one only), Home Page (one only)

Here is an example to show the exact format, it is not that hard to follow!

Imran Anwar, New York, NY, imran@imran.com, http://www.imran.com

Do NOT use ALL CAPS.
Do NOT use all lower case names.
Do NOT send email from someone else's address.
Do NOT send multiple requests on the same email address.
Do NOT add things like "Hello, My name is..." or "My email is:" etc.

If you want to be listed, follow the example given AGAIN:

Imran Anwar, New York, NY, imran@imran.com, http://www.imran.com

You will be surprised at the large number of seemingly educated people who cannot follow these simple instructions.

Please FOLLOW the sample above, or you'll get a snotty email from me :-)

Do me a favor. Check that you send email from your OWN account with the FROM: information set in the preferences of whatever program you use. And, do not use other people's accounts to add your own listing, the confirmation reply will go to them also and you may get into trouble if you are using someone else's account or address without permission.

Even worse, I regularly get messages where the "From:" address has not been entered in your software so my replies bounce back from dummy addresses like "Your-name@somewhere.com". Not only is it annoying and a waste of time to see this happen, it also means that people who ask me a question do not get the answer and probably assume I did not respond to them. That IS frustrating for me because I reply to ALL of the email I get.

If you get unsolicited or annoying email from someone from your listing here, please feel free to inform me and also complain to the postmaster at the sender's email address.

In cases that a listed person has an email address and a home page then both are provided as separate links. As the file size grows I have replaced the words Home Page with HP to save browsing time. The file is now large enough that I am planning to move it to a database you can access through a web search form but this will be done as I get time.

IMRAN is the founder of the internet email system in Pakistan and continues to be the premier provider of information services to the Pakistani community.

To better manage Pakistani resources and to make it easier for Pakistanis on the net to stay in touch, and to find others, IMRAN announced a new service called PPP, Pakistani People & Pages. This service was recently announced and is available at the popular and well known IMRAN WWW Server (also at http://www.imran.com ).

Imran Anwar clearly stated that there was no link at all between any political party and this service. "This service is meant to bring people closer, unlike most political parties," he explained.

The contents of the list are copyright and property of IMRAN, and not meant for anyone to send junk mail or mass mailed email messages. If you are listed and get junk mail through this list
you must inform us at imran@imran.com so action can be taken against anyone who spams the list.
Please inform me and the postmaster of the sender's site. We cannot tolerate spammers' inconveniencing email users anywhere.
